Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technicians act as the essential assistant to the Pharmacist across diverse healthcare settings, including retail pharmacies, hospitals, and nursing homes. Career opportunities also extend into pharmaceutical wholesaling, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and healthcare IT. This program is designed to ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently and safely while preparing you for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCB).


Course Overview

This comprehensive training prepares you for national certification and immediate entry into the workforce.

  • Status: Registration is Closed; Summer Dates Coming Soon.
  • Format: Online via Zoom.
  • Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30pm – 9:30pm.
  • Optional Review: May 19th and May 20th, 5:30pm – 9:00pm.
  • Program Cost: $975 (plus textbooks and exam fees).

Required Materials & Fees

Note: The textbook bundle can be purchased through theBarnes and Noble bookstore on campus. Use “SUNY Niagara” and the course code “CEL” in the blue drop-down menu.


Certification Resources

The PTCB certification is recognized across all 50 states, D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico.


Important Requirements & Policies

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registration: Please register early as seating is limited and classes fill quickly.
  • Cancellations: SUNY Niagara reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses due to insufficient enrollment.
