Placement Testing at SUNY Niagara

Placement testing helps ensure you’re enrolled in the right courses. Many students are placed based on academic records, but Admissions will notify you if testing is needed. Waivers may apply if transcripts (high school, college, AP, or CLEP) are submitted. Placement charts for both math and reading are linked below.

Testing Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

Placement tests are untimed and can be taken at-home, so extended time and distraction-reduced setting accommodations are not needed. Students requiring other accommodations should contact Accessibility Services before testing for personalized support (716-614-6728).

Applicants to Programs with Prerequisites

Applicants applying to programs with pre-requisites (e.g. Nursing or Radiologic Technology) need to complete placement testing prior to application in order for their application to be considered complete.

Tests will be e-mailed directly to applicants as you are not assigned a student login until after acceptance to the College. These tests are still untimed and can be taken at-home.

Admissions answers all inquiries regarding application status. You can contact Admissions at 716-614-6200 or admissions@niagaracc.suny.edu.
