🏠 SUNY Niagara Open House | ☀️ April 2026: Sanborn + NFCI Open Houses @ SUNY Niagara |
Students who are currently registered for classes in the Spring 2026 semester AND are in a degree or certificate program can register for classes before new students. Registering for classes during your eligibility week increases your chances of getting the schedule you want.
Current SUNY Niagara students can find their Eligibility for Registration dates in the top portion of their degree evaluation in Degree Works.
You will find two dates listed on your degree evaluation as shown in the picture below.
Note: Some students will have the same registration eligibility date for Summer and Fall 2026 and some students will have different dates.
You can find your advisor’s name and contact information listed at the top of your Degree Works evaluation (see example below).
Your online registration access date is calculated based on the number of earned credit hours + number of credits currently registered for in this semester.
Please note: The breakdown for # of Earned Credit Hours shown in the chart below are applicable for the Winter & Spring 2026 terms only.
Course load limitations are as follows:
A student must obtain permission from the academic advisor or the dean if they wish to take more than 18 credit hours in fall or spring. If a student wishes to take more than 21 credit hours in fall or spring, or above the limitation in summer or winter, permission must be granted from both the academic advisor and the dean. Students with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) less than 2.5 will not be permitted to exceed 21 credit hours.
