A study of the principles of macroeconomics is intended to give students a working knowledge of the operation of the economy as a whole. It encompasses the measurement of national income, aggregate output, price-levels, and interest rates in a market economy. Particular attention is given to the issues of unemployment and inflation of such an economy and examines the merits and demerits of various government policies directed towards them. The macro economic data for the United States economy will often be used to illustrate various concepts and problems. Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters.
This is a non-credit, workforce development course — a lower-cost way to build practical skills without enrolling in a full degree program. It's a good fit for anyone changing careers, brushing up on skills for a current job, or exploring the subject before committing to a credit-bearing program.
Coursework is delivered online through SUNY Niagara's learning platform and runs the length of the semester, with topics building week to week. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certification of Completion to document their coursework.
All Online courses through Workforce Development are open to the public, non-credit, and offered to students at a discounted rate.
