General Description:

SUNY Niagara is seeking to fill a part-time Surgical Technology Clinical Coordinator – Technical Assistant position. This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the clinical education component of the program. This position provides administration, organization, supervision, and academic oversight of student clinical experiences to ensure students achieve clinical competence and meet program outcomes and accreditation standards.

The Clinical Coordinator works collaboratively with the Surgical Technology ProgramCoordinator, on-site clinical instructors, clinical site personnel, and program leadership to maintain high-quality clinical education experiences and support student success.

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling based on program and clinical site needs. Occasional evening hours or travel to clinical sites may be required.

The rate of pay is based on the level of education the candidate possesses. For a Bachelor’s degree or lower the rate of pay will be $21.86 per hour. For a Master’s degree or higher the rate of pay will be $24.04 per hour.

Required Qualifications:

– Graduate of an education program in Surgical Technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
– Current credential in Surgical Technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
– Minimum of three (3) years of documented experience within the past five years in:
– the operating room scrub role
– instruction in Surgical Technology,
– or a combination of both.
– Knowledge of Surgical Technology curriculum and instructional practices.
– Knowledge of program evaluation methods related to student learning and clinical performance.
