Rachael B.

Rachael is a first-year tutor at the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), specializing in Horticulture courses and MAT 105. As a hands-on learner herself, Rachael enjoys incorporating interactive learning experiences into her tutoring sessions. She often takes Horticulture students to the cooler to study live plant samples and develops simple, memorable strategies to help students identify and understand plant characteristics.

Rachael brings valuable field experience from her summer working at Draves Arboretum and volunteering with planting projects at the Lockport Community Center. Her approach to tutoring focuses on working through course material with students, identifying areas of difficulty, and helping them overcome challenges while building confidence in their abilities.

Outside of academics, Rachael enjoys exploring philosophy and human behavior, hiking, and spending time with the positive people in her life. She is also an animal lover with two dogs, two cats, and two chinchillas—she clearly has a fondness for pairs!

Rachael looks forward to meeting students and supporting their academic success throughout the semester!
