Isaac K.

Isaac has been a Professional Tutor in ACE since the Fall 2026 semester. He earned a master’s degree in English from Arizona State University and a PhD in English from SUNY Buffalo. Since 2020, he has taught college-level courses in literature, academic and professional writing, and other topics at SUNY Buffalo, Canisius University, and Medaille College. At SUNY Buffalo, he received the Excellence in Teaching Award for Graduate Students from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Isaac writes about the history, literature, and culture of the United States in the 19th century. He is especially interested in the writing and culture of American abolitionists. His writing has been published in academic journals like American Literature and J19 and online in magazines like Commonplace and The Republic of Letters. Outside of teaching, reading and writing, Isaac loves to play the guitar, cook and bake, and spend time with his family.

Isaac provides academic support for English courses and writing assignments. He is passionate about making writing feel welcoming, accessible, and relevant to students, and believes in the power of writing to help students succeed in their careers, change their communities for the better, and live more thoughtful and meaningful lives.
