Professional Tutor

Aidan has been haunting the ACE Tutoring Center since Fall 2023, refusing to leave until every thesis statement has been dragged, kicking and screaming, into coherence. He earned an associate degree from SUNY Niagara and then doubled down by completing a bachelor’s degree in history at the University at Buffalo, all in pursuit of becoming the person who knows way too much about dead people.

His areas of expertise include history, writing, and public speaking—which is ironic considering most students would rather wrestle a bear than give a presentation. Whether you’re trying to understand the causes of World War I, write a paper that doesn’t read like it was generated during a caffeine-induced hallucination, or survive a speech without forgetting your own name, Aidan has seen worse.

He has personally witnessed thousands of citation crimes, essays that begin with “Since the beginning of time…”, and PowerPoints containing nothing but walls of text and a Minion meme. Nothing surprises him anymore.

Outside of tutoring, Aidan devotes himself to watching the Buffalo Sabres, an activity that experts classify as “voluntary emotional damage.” He also plays video games, where unlike the Sabres, winning occasionally happens. His friends continue to tolerate him despite his tendency to respond to random conversations with, “Well actually, in 14th-century Europe…”

If you hear someone passionately explaining why the Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, Roman, nor an empire from three rooms away, congratulations—you’ve found Aidan.
