Dr. Lloyd A. Holmes, President
On June 4, the SUNY Board of Trustees and Chancellor John B. King Jr. proudly announced the appointment of Dr. Lloyd A. Holmes as the eighth president of SUNY Niagara. Following a national search, Dr. Holmes officially stepped into his role on July 1.
Dr. Holmes brings a wealth of leadership experience to SUNY Niagara. He previously served as the fourth president of De Anza College in Cupertino, California, where he led for four years. Before that, he was vice president of student services at Monroe Community College, where he also took on the role of chief diversity officer for two years.
With his commitment to education and inclusion, Dr. Holmes is dedicated to guiding SUNY Niagara into an exciting future.
2023-2025 Strategic Plan
In 2022, SUNY Niagara launched a comprehensive review of its enrollment strategies, examining every step of the student journey from recruitment to post-graduate success. The Strategic Enrollment Management Committee set key goals focused on:
- The student funnel from recruitment to graduation
- Recruiting and marketing
- Academic offerings
- Data-driven planning
Guided by these priorities, the Committee updated goals college-wide to expand enrollment opportunities, strengthen curricula, build regional partnerships, and ensure sustainable improvements.
Our 2023-2025 Strategic Plan outlines a three-year roadmap to transform SUNY Niagara. Key initiatives include broadening allied health and technology programs, officially designating NFCI as our second campus, and improving access for working adults through flexible scheduling and online options.
