Driver Training and Safety Courses

Program Overview

This Driver Education Program is a total of 48 Hours. These hours consist of both classroom training (24 Hours) and in-car laboratory instruction (24 Hours). Students need to attend the full 48 hours of scheduled instruction and pass the class with a minimum grade of 65 in both portions of this class in order to receive an MV-285 Certificate. We will include only one make-up session without additional charge. SUNY Niagara’s Makeup Policy will be provided as we get closer to the class. It may also be obtained upon request.

Seating is limited Niagara County Community College reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes based on enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • End Date: 8/11/2025
  • Schedule: All Students must attend the classroom section that runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Students will also be assigned to a mandatory driving lab time slot that will run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. 8:00a.m.-9:30a.m. | 12:00p.m -1:30p.m. | 2:00p.m – 3:30p.m.

Requirements

Students must be 16 years of age on or before the first day of class. Students under 18 will be required to have written parental consent to attend the class.

Students will also need to obtain and present a NYS Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License on the first day of class and each class thereafter.

Students must not have any physical or mental disability which would interfere with the safe operation of a motor vehicle that cannot be controlled or corrected with reasonable accommodations to ensure safe operation. Students who need accommodations should contact:
