Scholarships Process Overview

Overview

SUNY Niagara recognizes that cost plays a major role in your college decision. Thanks to the NCCC Foundation and local organizations, a wide range of scholarships are available for incoming and current students.

  • Foundation History
Established in 1987, the NCCC Foundation has provided nearly $3 million in scholarships to help Niagara County students access higher education. These awards are funded through a growing endowment and generous donor support.
  • Scholarship Process
Scholarships are awarded twice a year for the fall and spring semesters. The Scholarship Committee reviews applications using a scoring system based on criteria such as GPA, essay quality, and letters of recommendation. Awards are funded from dedicated donors and proceeds from the annual Scholarship Soiree event. To be eligible for scholarships, student must have FAFSA form completed.
  • Award Timeline
Recipients are selected within a few weeks after the application deadline. Awards are applied to the student’s financial aid package as last-dollar support, after federal aid such as Pell and TAP have been applied.
  • Note
Award amounts may vary depending on investment performance.
