Program Overview


Our homes, food, clothing, vehicles and leisure activities are the products of the skill, dedication and creativity of business professionals. Business people must be “world-class competitors” in order to maintain or improve the American standard of living. Graduates may pursue business careers in marketing, human resource management, labor relations, production management, office administration, finance, insurance, etc. Graduates may also work in hospitals, government agencies or schools.

The associate in science program is for students who:

  • Are planning to transfer to an upper-level school such as Niagara University, SUNY College at Buffalo, the University at Buffalo or the SUNY College at Brockport.
  • Are capable of completing courses in mathematics beyond algebra and trigonometry.
  • Intend to earn a bachelor’s degree or beyond.

Program Goals and Objectives

  • To provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level careers in business-related positions.

Program Learning Outcomes

The assessment of student learning outcomes is not only a key indicator of program effectiveness, it is also one of the standards of excellence identified by the Middle States Commission (Standard 5) and is required through the SUNY assessment initiative.
