Paid Time Off

Vacation/Paid Time Off

  • 0–5 Years of Service
    • Days Earned per Month: 1.75
    • Total Days Earned per Year: 21
  • 6–10 Years of Service
    • Days Earned per Month: 2.08
    • Total Days Earned per Year: 25
  • 11+ Years of Service
    • Days Earned per Month: 2.33
    • Total Days Earned per Year: 28
  • Additional Details:
    • May carry over a maximum of 30 days annually (August to September). Not available for grant-funded administrators.
    • May sell back up to 20 days in August of each year. Not available for grant-funded administrators.
    • At resignation or retirement, paid for a maximum of 30 days of unused PTO. Not available for grant-funded administrators.

Sick Time

  • Earn 1 sick day per month, up to a maximum of 229 days.
  • Upon retirement:
    • Payment of 1 day for every 4 unused sick days.
    • Eligibility: Must be at least age 55 with 10 years of service.
    • Not available for grant-funded administrators.

Health Insurance

  • Premium Rates:
    • Single:
      • $133.33/month
      • $160.56/month
    • Family:

  • Plan Options: Highmark POS 200 or Independent Health.
  • Eligibility: First day of the month following hire date.
  • Employee Contribution: Responsible for 16% of the cost of family or single coverage.

Vacation

  • 12-Month Faculty:
    • Awarded 25 vacation days annually on September 1 (prorated if hired mid-year).
    • Maximum carryover of 10 unused vacation days per year.
  • 10-Month Faculty:
    • Not awarded vacation days.

Personal Days

  • 3 personal days awarded after a 90-day introductory period.
  • Unused personal days roll into the sick time balance.

Comp Time

  • Technical Assistants:
    • May earn up to 35 compensatory hours.
    • Additional 77 compensatory hours available for the 11 Fridays off in the summer.

Sick Time

  • Earn 1.20 sick days per month (14.4 days per year).
  • Maximum accumulation: 229 days.

Health Insurance

  • Eligibility: Begins on the first day of the first full month upon hire.
  • Plan: Highmark POS 200 Plan is the only option.
  • Employee Contribution:
    • 16% of the cost for family/single coverage.

Highmark POS 200 Plus Rates:

  • Single: $133.33/month
  • Family: $369.79/month

Retirement Health Insurance Contribution (Upon Retirement at Age 55+):

    • Less than 10 years: 0%
    • 10–15 years: 50%
    • 15–20 years: 75%

Health Insurance Waiver:

  • Employees may waive coverage and receive:
    • $750 (Family) or $300 (Single), paid on or around May 1.

  • Enroll in a pre-tax Section 125 Flexible Spending Account.
  • Maximum Contributions:
    • $2,850/year for out-of-pocket medical expenses.
    • $5,000/year for dependent care expenses.

  • $35 allocated for each faculty member for membership dues in academic and professional organizations.

  • Limits:
    • Maximum 3 credit hours per semester.
    • Maximum 6 credit hours per year.
  • Enrollment based on seat availability.

Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)

  • College will contribute:

Health Insurance Waiver

  • May waive health insurance and receive:
    • $700 for single coverage
    • $1,400 for family coverage
  • Waiver benefit paid at the college contribution rate (75% or 90%), made on or about May 1.
