Part Time Art Drawing Instructor

General Description:

SUNY Niagara has a need for part-time instructors to teach beginning drawing within a structured foundation arts program.

Responsibilities include teaching foundation drawing with a primary emphasis on drawing from observation. Instructor will be provided with a general syllabus that includes essential learning objectives and will develop appropriate exercises and assignments to meet critical learning goals.

Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $884 per lecture hour/$792 per lab hour.

In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Required Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Fine Arts, Design or an appropriate related field of study
• An active art/design career as evidenced by professional exhibition record, current work, and/or publications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative working style.
• Must have strong observational drawing skills.
• College level teaching experience
