Maureen Henderson, Director of the SUNY Niagara Small Business Development Center Regional Director Maureen has been a dedicated member of the Niagara Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since November 2007. For 14 years, she served as a business advisor before being appointed regional director in 2021. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University. Maureen began her career in the banking industry, focusing on financial services, and later gained valuable experience as a successful small business owner. As a NYSBDC Advanced Certified Business Advisor, Maureen specializes in procurement, including government contracting and certification processes. She has served in numerous leadership roles within both the NYSBDC network and her local community. Since 2022, she has chaired the NYSBDC Professional Development Committee, which oversees statewide training programs, staff certifications, and biannual awards. She is passionate about helping her colleagues expand their knowledge, grow professionally, and receive recognition for their achievements. Maureen also serves on various committees and boards including NYSBDC 40th Anniversary Committee, NYSBDC Director’s Liason Group, the Newfane Holiday Light Up Committee, and the Newfane Friends of Music Board. Her contributions have been widely recognized. She has received the Buffalo Region SBA’s Women in Business Champion Award, Business Person of the Year by the Newfane Business Association, and Buffalo’s Business First’s 40 Under 40.
