Job Description:
Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Reports to: Clinical Services Director
Overall Responsibility: Collaborates with and support team members to ensure a patient focused approach to care.
Areas of responsibility (Tasks):
• Prepares patients for physician visits by taking vital signs, history, assessing risk factors and performing employer requested testing
• Performs all diagnostic tests deemed appropriate by physician including but not limited to pulmonary function tests, breath alcohol tests, drug screens, audiograms, respirator fit tests, EKGs and phlebotomy
• Collects and records health information findings of physical assessments into patient record with timeliness and accuracy
• Assists and prepares employer paperwork for the providers
• Assists providers with procedures as necessary
• Administers injections or medications when required, under the direction of attending provider or as per established company protocol
• Assists in inventory and ordering of medical supplies, medication and vaccines
• Assists with covering at other locations as necessary
• Assists with tasks as directed by management
Skills required:
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both in writing and verbally
• Demonstrates personal responsibility, integrity and ability to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in a manner consistent with HIPAA
• Demonstrates attention to detail, good nursing judgment and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow company protocols
• Demonstrates basic computer skills with Windows, Microsoft office programs, HealthWorks HER and other software as needed
