Accreditation

Niagara County Community College is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) www.msche.org. Niagara County Community College’s accreditation status is accredited. MSCHE’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on June 23, 2016 was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. secretary of education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. MSCGE’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.

The College’s curricula are registered with the University of the State of New York (State Education Department) and approved by SUNY. All curricula are approved for the education of veterans under Public Law 634 (Children of Deceased Veterans) and Public Law 89-358 (Veterans Administration Readjustment Benefits Act of 1966).

New York complaint guidelines requires that all types of complaints concerning colleges and universities in New York State try to be resolved first and directly with the administration of the college or university involved. If a resolution to a complaint is not satisfactory a further appeal can be addressed to Filing a Complaint About a College or University | New York State Education Department (nysed.gov).

The Office of College and University Evaluation will not review a complaint until all grievance procedures at the institution have been followed and all appeal options explored and exhausted and documentation provided that all such procedures have been exhausted.
