Job Description:
General Overview: Provides emotional support and advocacy to families of children with emotional or behavioral disabilities. Assists with proper care and supervision of youth. Provides crisis intervention. Assists with record-keeping. Completes Medicaid billable service notes. Must be able to complete FPA Certification with NYS Office of Mental Health.
Qualifications: Must be a parent of a child with serious emotional disturbance. Knowledge of Mental Health Services System. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work closely and cooperatively with both parents of SED children. Minimum 21 years of age. High School graduate or equivalent. Infraction clear NYS Drivers License. Minimum of one year experience working with youth or adults in a human Services capacity.
