Job Description:
Positions available in all departments; Building Maintenance, Grounds, Housekeeping, Horticulture, Cashier, Parking Lot Attendant, Visitor Information, Clerical & more….
Park and Rec Aides May be assigned to various duties depending on Park or Department assignment:
Maintains grounds, roadways, waterways, and trails.
– Clears sites, prepares them for planting, and plants seeds, trees, shrubbery, and flowers.
– Cleans grounds, roadways, and structures by sweeping, raking, shoveling, mowing, and removing by hand debris, leaves, branches, snow, ice, or trash.
– Maintains areas by cutting grass, pruning plants, and cutting and removing dead branches and trees.
– Cleans comfort stations, rest rooms, and buildings; picks up litter.
Assists in operations by performing routine, repetitive activities.
– Provides patrons with information regarding park facilities and use.
– Performs office tasks such as filing, alphabetizing, copying, keyboarding, answering telephones, and other related tasks using standard office equipment.
– Sells tickets to park patrons, makes change, and prepares standard reports of daily receipts by reconciling money received with the value of the tickets issued.
– Sets up equipment for sporting events, conferences, seminars, and special events.
– Runs errands, delivers and sorts mail.
– Directs the parking of cars.
Assists higher level staff in the performance of organized recreational, historic or environmental interpretation activities or plans, delivers, and supervises such activities.
Performs simple maintenance activities.
– Fixes or replaces shelves, locks, or other routine tasks.
– Performs interior and exterior painting tasks.
– Assists in the repairing of roads, paths, benches, trails, cabins, picnic shelters, and various equipment.
– Assists skilled or semiskilled trades positions by performing a variety of relatively unskilled tasks.
Performs routine office tasks involving simple arithmetic computations or repetitive activities.
Prepares seasonal payrolls, timesheets, internal fiscal forms, or other related administrative forms.
Monitors and oversees fee collection and verification activities.
Handles complaints or inquiries from park patrons regarding the quality of their experience, the cleanliness of facilities, noise from other facility users, and other related customer service issues.
