Electronics Technology Assistant Professor

If so, SUNY Niagara is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Professor of Electronics Technology to join our Business & STEM Division. This full-time, tenure-track position offers the opportunity to contribute to a supportive academic community that values student success, innovation, and industry relevance.

The instructor will be responsible for program coordination, student advisement, assessment of learning outcomes, participation in divisional and college activities, and other required duties. The typical teaching load is 15 lecture hours or 18 lecture/lab hours per semester, which will be comprised of face-to-face instruction on campus and, once necessary training is completed, online and hybrid modalities. Teaching assignments may be during day, evening, or weekend hours.

Electronics courses currently offered by the department include Principles of Electricity 1 and 2, Digital Systems 1 and 2, Advanced Digital Systems, Instrumentation & Control Systems, and PLC Programming. Classes are held on the SUNY Niagara’s main campus in Sanborn, NY.

The start date of this position will be late August for the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester. The successful candidate will only be required to work 162 days per academic year (August – May), and will be provided with a winter break from mid-December to early January, a Spring Break for one week in mid-March, and will work until the Spring semester ends in Mid-May (not required to work in June, July, and most of August).

The base salary for this position is $67, 953. However, there is the potential for overload and other assignments, such as program coordinator and summer classes which would increase the base salary. There is also a pathway for promotion to higher level salary positions (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor).

 

Required Qualifications:

  •  A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • PLC Programming experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in electronics/electrical
