🏠 SUNY Niagara Open House | ☀️ April 2026: Sanborn + NFCI Open Houses @ SUNY Niagara |
The Chief Diversity and Equity Officer (CDEO), in collaboration with the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) committee, promotes and integrates the principles of justice, equity, inclusion, and belonging into the College’s policies and practices. This work supports the advancement of SUNY Niagara’s mission and strategic goals by fostering a campus climate where every member of the community has the opportunity to thrive.
The CDEO and JEDI Committee champion an inclusive and equitable campus culture. They collaborate with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners to cultivate behaviors, attitudes, and policies that support equity, inclusion, and belonging. Together, they identify and address systemic barriers and develop strategies to support a diverse and talented student body and workforce.
The JEDI Committee is dedicated to ensuring that underrepresented and economically disadvantaged populations are recognized, supported, and meaningfully connected to the SUNY Niagara community. Through intentional strategies, academic offerings, policies, and practices, the College aims to empower these groups toward successful educational and career outcomes.
The JEDI Committee envisions strong, lasting partnerships among students, employees, and the Niagara County community that enrich the educational experience inside and outside of the classroom. Through this collaborative work, SUNY Niagara will continue to foster inclusiveness, celebrate diversity, and champion equity for all.
Constancy, integrity, transparency, cultural fluency, student-centeredness, accessibility, collegiality, and lifelong learning guide our commitment to ensuring that SUNY Niagara graduates are prepared to lead with global awareness, civic responsibility, appreciation of differences, and a strong ethical foundation.
