🏠 SUNY Niagara Open House | ☀️ April 2026: Sanborn + NFCI Open Houses @ SUNY Niagara |
Cross-registration is intended to promote timely degree completion by providing student access to courses at other SUNY campuses while they are enrolled at their Home Campus. SUNY Niagara participates in a Western New York Consortium Agreement and a SUNY Cross-Registration Agreement whereby matriculated students in good academic standing may cross-register for coursework at another participating institution.
Participating institutions make their own policies regarding admittance of cross-registered students, so students must check with the institution they will be cross-registering with. All SUNY institutions are included in cross-registration. View a list of participating institutions within the WNY Consortium Agreement, along with important dates and further details.
A Home Campus is the institution of the student’s primary registration/matriculation. A Host Campus is an institution that provides instruction to a matriculated student registered at a Home Campus.
Students’ submission of the Cross-Registration Agreement is considered approval for the Host Campus to automatically release grades/transcripts to their Home Campus at the end of the semester. This also permits the Home Campus and Host Campus to communicate regarding their academic and financial records.
Students’ submission of the Cross-Registration Agreement also indicates their agreement to abide by all regulations imposed by the Host Campus. In addition, the Host campus may apply rules and regulations to incoming students as they deem necessary (e.g., restrictions on classes). Students must be aware of those rules before they cross-register.
Enrollment changes may impact students’ eligibility for financial aid for the current term and/or future terms. Students must consult the Financial Aid Office regarding academic eligibility for financial aid, including satisfactory academic progress standards before making any changes to their schedules. They are required to notify the SUNY Niagara Records Office and the Host Campus within five (5) business days if their enrollment status changes. Changes in enrollment may impact their financial aid and may result in tuition and fees being due to SUNY Niagara. Students may become liable for tuition if they make enrollment changes.
Any health (immunization/records/physical exam, etc.) requirements must be met at BOTH campuses, even if they differ. Students failing to meet these requirements may be liable for tuition and fees.
Cross-registered students who register prior to published dates will not be honored as cross-registered students and the tuition will not be deferred. A cross-registration application CANNOT be backdated for a previously enrolled course. If a student does not submit the cross-registration form at the time of registration, the student will be billed for the course.
Currently, SUNY Niagara has cross-registration agreements with the following colleges/universities:
If you are seeking to cross-register at another SUNY institution, you must complete the SUNY Cross-Registration process. Once submitted, an academic advisor, a financial aid advisor, the business office and the Registrar will review your request. If approved, the Host Campus will contact you about your course registration.
If you are seeking to cross-register at a WNY Consortium institution, you must complete the WNY Consortium Form available in the Records Office. You must submit this to the Records Office (A-161) who will determine if the course is required and whether an equivalent course is available at SUNY Niagara.
Once approved by SUNY Niagara, you must then bring your form to the Host Campus on the specific day(s) designated for students registering through the WNY Consortium (See the Cross Registration Calendar or contact the Office of the Registrar at the host institution). When you report to the Host Campus, they will use the form to create a record for you. If there is space remaining in the course you desire, you will be able to register for the course.
At the end of the semester, the Host Campus will forward your transcript to SUNY Niagara. SUNY Niagara will then evaluate and add to your record any coursework accepted as transfer credit, which will NOT be included in the calculation of your GPA but will count in earned hours.
Students must complete the SUNY Cross-registration form (see link below) or obtain and complete the WNY Consortium Form available at the Registrar’s office of your Home Campus. Home Campus approval is required. Students must also complete and submit SUNY Niagara’s Non-Matriculated student online application to the Records Office.
The Records Office will register approved students in classes with seats available on the first day of non-matriculated registration as published in the Student Calendar. You will be notified of your registration via a schedule sent by mail. It is the student’s responsibility to drop the coursework should s/he no longer wish to complete the course at SUNY Niagara.
SUNY Niagara’s Records Office will communicate with your Home Campus during the semester, and if your status and eligibility for cross-registration changes at your home school, you will be notified and billed for the coursework.
If you decide to drop or resign from the coursework at SUNY Niagara, our drop deadlines will apply as listed in the Student Calendar. The cross-registration calendar information can be found on the WNY Consortium Calendar.
Once approved for cross-registration, you will receive information from SUNY Niagara regarding Activating your T-Wolves email account and utilizing Banner Web for online services, including viewing of final grades.
If you are seeking to cross-register from one SUNY institution to another SUNY institution, you must complete the SUNY Cross-Registration process. Once submitted, an academic advisor, a financial aid advisor, the business office and the Registrar will review your request. If approved, the appropriate Campus will contact you about your course registration.
If you are attending a private institution that is participating in the WNY Consortium institution, and seeking to cross-register at SUNY Niagara then you must complete the WNY Consortium Form available at the Registrar’s Office of your HOME institution. You must submit this to your HOME institution who will determine if the course is required and whether an equivalent course is available at their institution. Once approved, you must then bring your form to SUNY Niagara on the specific day(s) designated for students registering through the WNY Consortium (See the Cross Registration Calendar or contact the Office of the Registrar). When you submit this form to SUNY Niagara, we will use the form to create a student record for you. If there is space remaining in the course you desire, you will be able to register for the course.
At the end of the semester, we will forward your SUNY Niagara transcript to your HOME institution. They will then evaluate and add to your record any coursework accepted as transfer credit.
