Black Drama and Film

A survey of African-American Theatre and motion picture companies, personages and major events which comprise the history of African-American drama and film from the twentieth century to the present, the course will also explore the development of performance techniques and themes that speak to the needs of African-American audiences. Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters.

This is a non-credit, workforce development course — a lower-cost way to build knowledge and enrich your education without enrolling in a full degree program. It's a good fit for anyone with a personal interest in the subject, or exploring it before committing to a credit-bearing program.

Coursework is delivered online through SUNY Niagara's learning platform and runs the length of the semester, with topics building week to week. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certification of Completion to document their coursework.
