Registered Nurse – Infusion

Job Description:

UBMD Neurology is seeking a RN to work at busy Infusion center located at the Conventus Medical Building at 1001 Main St. Buffalo, NY 14203. The schedule will be Mon through Fri 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM.

Duties include providing and coordinating patient care, educate patients about various neurological health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.

Essential Functions:·

➢ Participates in and supports patient care with emphasis on patient response including triaging and timely follow up on medical concerns, referrals and diagnostic testing. Plans, modifies care and implements interventions as needed and communicates appropriately with patients.

➢ Accurately and efficiently updates patient medical records on a regular basis.

➢ Coordinates nursing care plans for high-risk patients through patient and family education, distribution of literature, referrals and community service recommendations as needed.

➢ Insert, monitor, and remove IV’s for medical therapies in patients

➢ Monitors patients for adverse reactions and able to take appropriate actions as a result

➢ Document and record administration of any medications

➢ Perform Venipuncture and blood collection and specimen preparation for lab testing

➢ Clarify medical plans of care with patients and answer questions by phone or email

➢ Escort patients to exam room to help maintain timely patient flow

Other Functions:

➢ Monitor inventory of medical supplies and reports to Nurse Manager.

➢ Ensure emergency medical equipment is checked regularly with appropriate knowledge of use.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program. Current NYS nursing license.

Experience/Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years of previous nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Must have one (1) year infusion experience. One (1) year chemotherapy experience preferred. Current CPR Certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00- $75,000.00 per year
